Immaculate Chinenyenwa Onuoha is a Senior Associate at Aelfread Legal Practitioners & Consultants, where she holds multiple strategic roles within the firm. She serves as the Head of the Finance and Projects Practice and also provides key support as an Assistant in the Dispute Resolution Practice Group. In her leadership capacities, Immaculate oversees the firm’s corporate, commercial, finance, and project-related briefs, providing structured, pragmatic and commercially sound legal advice to individuals, startups, financial institutions, and corporate entities. She is actively involved in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial instruments including contracts, memoranda of understanding, shareholders’ agreements, joint venture arrangements, developer and project agreements, financing documentation and tenancy instruments, ensuring strict compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory frameworks. Immaculate also plays an important role in litigation and dispute resolution, assisting partners and senior counsel in the prosecution and defence of civil and commercial matters. She contributes to the preparation of court processes, legal opinions, and dispute-resolution strategies, and has represented clients in mediation proceedings at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Lagos State Multi-Door Courthouse, where she has successfully negotiated settlements that mitigated litigation exposure and protected client interests.
Her practice reflects deep experience in corporate regulatory compliance and advisory work, including company secretarial services, corporate searches, incorporation of business entities, filing of statutory returns, and advisory services relating to the Corporate Affairs Commission, Federal Inland Revenue Service, and other regulatory bodies. She also has hands-on experience in title documentation, perfection of interests at land registries, and property-related due diligence. Immaculate previously gained valuable financial-sector and in-house experience as a Legal and Loan Officer, advising management, drafting and perfecting security documentation, handling debt recovery, reviewing third-party contracts and supporting corporate governance and risk management processes. This background strengthens her effectiveness in finance-driven and project-based transactions. She holds an LL.B from Ambrose Alli University and was called to the Nigerian Bar after completing her legal training at the Nigerian Law School. She is currently pursuing a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree, further deepening her expertise in corporate, commercial and finance-related legal practice.
